Cubs Capture Close Win

The Chicago N (AZL) Cubs defeated the Oakland (AZL) Athletics, 5-4, at Hohokam Park. Chicago N (AZL) was led by 18-year old first baseman Edwin Zapata, who was 4-5 with 4 singles. Danny Vega, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. Jon Lewy closed the game out for Chicago N (AZL), earning his 6th save.
In the top of the eighth inning, left fielder Randy Brown delivered a key hit for the Cubs. With Chicago N (AZL) trailing 4-3, he ripped a solo home run.
