Tompkins Lifts Mets to 11-6 Win
The New York N (GCL) Mets beat the Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates by a score of 11-6. New York N (GCL) pinch hitter Amari Tompkins deserved the lion's share of the credit. Tompkins was 2-2 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Mets. The first-place Mets now have a record of 46-17.

Mike Graham had a big 2-run double for the Mets in the bottom of the fourth inning. With New York N (GCL) trailing 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Colby and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mets ahead, 3-2.

"When the ball finds the sweet spot," said Tompkins, "I can't complain."
