The Washington (GCL) Nationals topped the Houston (GCL) Astros, 5-3, in Gulf Coast Rookie League action at CoolToday Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Washington (GCL) second baseman Danny Aguilar. Washington (GCL) starter Ricky Aguirre was credited with the win after throwing 75 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 8-1.

Mike Ekdar dealt the Astros a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Washington (GCL) leading 2-0, Ekdar, who is tied for 7th in the GCL in runs scored with 37, hit a 1-2 changeup for a run-scoring single.
