Blue Jays Pin 5-3 Loss on Atlanta (GCL)
The rain did not keep Toronto (GCL) and Atlanta (GCL) from finishing their game.

The Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays defeated the Atlanta (GCL) Braves, 5-3, at Champion Stadium. Toronto (GCL) was led by 18-year old center fielder An-shi Geng, who was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was Olegário Pechim. He tossed 90 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. Xinpeng Que picked up the save for Toronto (GCL), his 4th of the year.

Jake Webb came through with a big-time hit for Toronto (GCL). The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Geng told the Toronto (GCL) Gazette: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."

The 10th-place Blue Jays improved to 13-15.
