The Salt Lake Bees topped the Iowa Cubs, 4-2, with third baseman Josh Guth playing a big role. Guth was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Bees in the win. Mike Evans picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-0 on the season. He struck out 2 and walked 4 in 6 innings, while yielding 1 run. The Cubs fall to 5-10 and continue their rocky start to the 2060 season.
With Salt Lake leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Guth hit a fastball from Jerry Lawless for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Bees ahead, 4-0.
