Jackson Excels, But Bees Win
Eric Jackson had a good game, but he could not keep the Wichita Wind Surge from falling, 8-5, to the Salt Lake Bees at Riverfront Stadium. The Wichita second baseman was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice in the loss. Billy McCarron notched his 1st save of the season. The win leaves Salt Lake with a record of 6-4.

Salt Lake needed the clutch hitting of Steve Clifton to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bees on top, 8-5. For the game, Clifton had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Clifton told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
