Syracuse Rallies to 5-2 Win
|
The Gwinnett Stripers got a superb performance from pitcher Jon Cadena, but the Syracuse Mets still won the game, 5-2. Cadena threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Dusty Kenedy, now 4-3, was credited with the win in 0.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. Alfredo Bautista earned save number 1 this season.
Syracuse used the timely hitting of Mike Shuler to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mets on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Shuler told a Syracuse Observer reporter that he was "very pleased" with the win.
The Mets now own a record of 63-74.
