Tides Win Another One, 7-6
The Norfolk Tides defeated the Rochester Red Wings, 7-6, in part because of center fielder Bobby Morris. Morris went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk for the Tides. Norfolk reliever Freddy Mendez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Erik LaSpada took the loss. Eric Trahan notched his 5th save in 8 chances.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 24-year old first baseman Jose de la Rosa. de la Rosa had a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tides ahead, 7-6. For the game, de la Rosa had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

Norfolk manager was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.

The 6th-place Tides improved to 62-73.
