The Toledo Mud Hens beat the Pawtucket Red Sox, 8-2, at Fifth Third Field. The win was due in part to shortstop Jeff Rich, who was 3-4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Billy Knight, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. The Mud Hens now own a record of 99-33.

Zach Coles had a big 2-run double for the Mud Hens in the bottom of the second inning. With Toledo leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 34-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Fox and swatted a double to left. It was his 21st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mud Hens ahead, 4-0.
