The Syracuse Mets stymied the Toledo Mud Hens, 6-2, at Fifth Third Field. Kurt Haskell had a good day at the plate. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 for Syracuse. Pat Cantilo picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Eric Pekrul, who is tied for 5th in the IL with a 3.20 ERA, was tagged with the loss. The losses continue to mount for Toledo, which has now dropped 8 in a row.
Syracuse took control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Eddie Foley hit a 2-run single to make it 2-0, Mets.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Foley.
