Toledo pitcher Ben Taylor did his part in helping his team defeat the Indianapolis Indians, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Taylor got the win, improving to 15-3. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Mud Hens own a robust 97-32 mark.
Toledo used the hitting of Mat Hayes to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mud Hens on top, 2-1. For the game, Hayes had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Sometimes a win comes easy," Taylor told the Toledo Today. "And sometimes you have to scratch and claw."
