Durham beat Rochester on the strength of starting pitcher Josh Gillam's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-2. Gillam yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 7-5. Picking up the save was Andy Martelle, his 4th.

Mike Marsh had a big 2-run triple for the Bulls in the bottom of the second inning. With Durham leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Mike Conover, who is tied for 2nd in the IL with a 1.18 WHIP, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 4th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bulls ahead, 4-0.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Gillam.

Durham goes to 68-61, Rochester to 65-64.
