IronPigs Use Late Rally to Win 4th Straight
|
Lehigh Valley third baseman Ed Apgar helped his team beat the Columbus Clippers, 9-4. Apgar went 3 for 3 for the IronPigs. Lehigh Valley pitcher Mike Anne got the win. He's now 2-3. Jake Gomez was tagged with the loss. The losing streak for Columbus has now reached 5 games.
Lehigh Valley used the clutch hitting of Dan Cogbill to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to give the IronPigs the lead, 5-4. For the game, Cogbill had 2 singles and 1 double in 6 at-bats.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Cogbill. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
