Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Syracuse Mets and Norfolk Tides.

Chris Burkey was a vital contributor to the 10-7 Syracuse victory over Norfolk. The Mets catcher was 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Keshawn Thibodeaux snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 2 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. Chad Bledsoe earned his 4th save, after closing out the game.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Steve Butters hit a 1-0 slider from Curt Gamel for a run-scoring single. It put Syracuse in front, 6-5.

"We came out aggressive," said Mets manager . "We came out swinging the bats."
