Ricky Mendez pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Scranton WB RailRiders, despite Mendez's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Buffalo Bisons at Sahlen Field. Gelana Mtundu got credit for the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. C.J. Lee finished to wrap up his 17th save.

In the bottom of the fourth, Joe McGillis delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Buffalo center fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Bisons in front, 3-2.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager .

Buffalo has a record of 53-60, placing them 4th in the International League North Division.
