Red Sox Claim Late Win
|
Behind a solid performance from third baseman Josh Gatto, the Pawtucket Red Sox defeated the Charlotte Knights, 7-3. Gatto went 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Red Sox. Pawtucket reliever Manny Meza snagged the win, upping his record to 2-1. Eddie Kramer shouldered the loss. The Red Sox, at 61-45, lead by one game in their division.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Gatto delivered big-time for Pawtucket, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Eddie Kramer. The game-changing hit put the Red Sox on top, 4-3.
"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Gatto said.
