The Buffalo Bisons powered past the Syracuse Mets, 8-3, at NBT Bank Stadium. Chris Covey went 4-5 with 4 singles. He scored 3 times, to lead the charge. Buffalo pitcher Danny Hamlette earned the win, hiking his record to 7-2. Rob Olinger suffered the loss. Phil Larsen was credited with the save for Buffalo, his 3rd of the season.

With two out in the top of the sixth, Mike Prather put Buffalo in front, 6-2, with a 2-run single. The Bisons went on to win the ballgame.

"That was not our best effort," said Syracuse skipper .

The first-place Bisons now sit at 60-37.
