Curt Lee had a strong outing for the Syracuse Mets against the Gwinnett Stripers at NBT Bank Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Lee got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Earning his 11th save for Syracuse was Devon Reid.
Matt Smith, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2055 draft, aided the Syracuse cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder was 2 for 3 with 2 singles.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Mets manager . "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
The Mets now own a record of 47-48.
