The Buffalo Bisons beat the Pawtucket Red Sox, 8-4, at Sahlen Field. The win was due in part to first baseman Chuck Swallow, who went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Alex Westbrooks claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record stands at 1-2. Buffalo raised its record to 35-32 with the win.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Bisons grabbed the lead when Swallow hit his 4th home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Joe Turpin made it 8-4, Buffalo.

In postgame comments to the Buffalo Daily, Swallow said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
