Clippers Drop Knights, 1-0
|
Pat Rowan pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Charlotte Knights, despite Rowan's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the Columbus Clippers at Huntington Park. Picking up the save was Steve Pearce, his 11th. The Clippers raised their record to 20-28.
The Clippers got a big at-bat from shortstop Tyler Jones. For the game, Jones was 1-3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 10th double of the season gave Columbus a 1-0 lead.
"Do what you're good at," said Columbus manager . "That's all I ask of the team."
