Late Offense Lifts Durham to 8-7 Victory
The Durham Bulls trumped the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 8-7, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Durham designated hitter Vince Herb was terrific. He was 1-1 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The first-place IronPigs dropped to 28-21.

The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Durham trailing 7-5, Mike Marsh delivered the decisive blow, stroking a fastball from Jonathan Heath for a bases-clearing double. Ballgame.

"We kept coming at guys," Durham manager said. "We kept digging."
