Bats Lose Versus Buffalo, 8-2
|
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Bisons beat the Bats.
The Buffalo Bisons defeated the Louisville Bats, 8-2. Third Baseman Bill Yates deserved a large share of the credit. Yates went 4-5 with 4 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Bisons. Kevin Hollowell earned the win for Buffalo. He lasted 7.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 4-1.
Joe McGillis drew 1 walk in 5 trips to the plate. He drove in 2 runs for Buffalo. The 26-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ron Boltze. It was his 5th walk of the season.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Yates told reporters after the game.
The Bisons, at 24-18, sit in first place in the International League North Division.
