6 Straight Wins for Bats
|
Chris Steimel was a vital contributor to the 4-3 Louisville victory over Toledo. The Bats first baseman hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Ron Boltze earned the win to go to 4-2. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. Kevin Fischer nailed down the save.
Steimel contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Louisville in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Steimel took a cutter from Vic Kerivan and stroked the home run to right-center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Bats to leap in front, 2-1.
"I feel like we're rolling now," Steimel told the Louisville Observer."The dugout is coming alive."
The Bats have now reeled off 6 straight wins.
