Tides Coast to 11-1 Victory
|
Columbus had no answer for Norfolk Tides hurler Gregorio Meza, who overwhelmed Clippers hitters as the Tides coasted to victory, 11-1. Meza yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-0. The Tides upped their record to 22-16.
The fans who came to support the Tides were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at Harbor Park.
"I'm happy we won," said Meza. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
