Pawtucket got a terrific game from right fielder Pete Lipson. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Durham, 7-3. Lipson went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Chris Cole picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-2 on the season. He struck out 2 and walked 2 in 7 innings, while yielding 3 runs. Durham is now 19-21, while Pawtucket is 19-21.
Durham used the hitting of Mike Brewer to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Bulls on top, 2-0. For the game, Brewer had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"At the end of the day, wins and losses are really the only thing that matters," said Brewer.
