Loss to IronPigs Extends Columbus Losing Streak
|
Thanks in large part to catcher D.J. Brown, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs beat the Columbus Clippers, 7-3. Brown was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Mike Marte, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. The IronPigs have now won 6 straight.
Brown had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 sinker from Devin Morris, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the IronPigs a 6-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Brown.
Brown attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
