Juan Candelas, who is tied for 7th in the IL in strikeouts with 28, was terrific for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Columbus Clippers. His performance earned Candelas rave reviews. Lehigh Valley has won 5 straight, while Columbus has lost 6 in a row.
Billy Edwards chipped in for Lehigh Valley, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1 for 1.
