Gwinnett Stripers starter Jerry Bennett turned in a sterling performance against the Columbus Clippers, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. Bennett got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Tommy Cole earned the save for Gwinnett, his 10th of the year.
Steve Gohlke had a direct impact on the outcome. Gohlke contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Gwinnett up, 3-1.
