Bisons Pull Out Late Win, 4-3
The Charlotte Knights could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Bobby Ventura into a win. Instead, the Buffalo Bisons prevailed, 4-3, in 10 innings. Ventura threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. The win went to C.J. Lee in relief, making him now 1-0. Chad Kowitz took the loss for Charlotte. Buffalo leads the International League North Division by 2½ games.

The Bisons got a clutch hit from left fielder Nate Melgoza. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Bisons.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Melgoza.
