Clippers Rally to Win
|
The Columbus Clippers and Pawtucket Red Sox lit up the scoreboard.
In a high-scoring game between Columbus and Pawtucket, first baseman Branden Wetmore was a difference-maker. The 27-year-old helped Columbus grab the 10-8 win. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Devin Morris claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0.
In the top of the eighth, the Clippers grabbed the lead when Wetmore hit his 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Joey Kilgas made it 10-7, Columbus.
"Feels good to get the job done," Wetmore said after the game.
The loss drops Pawtucket to 9-9.
