Mud Hens Slap 5-2 Loss on IronPigs
|
Toledo parlayed a decent outing from starter Ben Taylor into a solid win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. The final score was 5-2. Taylor, now 2-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 1, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The win has Toledo at 7-1.
Tied up with the IronPigs in the top of the fifth inning, the Mud Hens got a boost from catcher Jake Miller. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Miller saw a 0-1 fastball from E.C. Waters and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Toledo on top, 2-1.
"I just try to be a dog, have good swings, good at-bats," said Miller.
