Buffalo Bisons starter Robby Pierce was on his game, helping his team beat the Pawtucket Red Sox, 5-1. Ed Simms earned the save for Buffalo, his 1st of the year. The win leaves Buffalo with a record of 2-3.

Buffalo used the stroke of Geralmi Bonner to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Bisons ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Bonner.
