Winston-Salem Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
|
Their bats were silent and Winston-Salem had a rookie on the mound. No problem.
On a day when the Dash struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 22-year-old starter Mike Ramos. The right-hander quieted the Lancaster JetHawks at The Hangar to help Winston-Salem take the 3-2 decision and seize a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 1.
Pete McMillen had a direct impact on the outcome. McMillen contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Winston-Salem up, 2-0.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Lancaster manager . "We just didn't cash in."
The next game is set to be played for Thursday, September 13th , 2057 at BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem.
