The Las Vegas Aviators moved to within one game of the Triple A Championship, downing the visiting Tacoma Rainiers at Las Vegas Ballpark by a score of 6-4. Aviators right-hander Alex Flores had a strong outing in which he threw 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs. The win gives the Aviators a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 League Championship Series.

Mazakazu Iwamura helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run home run. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Aviators.

"Alex showed what he's made of," said Las Vegas manager .

Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma.
