The Sioux City Explorers have booked their place in the American Association Championship.

By a score of 3-0, the club ousted the Cleburne Railroaders in the Round 1 tonight at The Depot at Cleburne Station.

Sioux City won the series by a 4-2 margin. The series MVP was Explorers second baseman Mike Jalil.

For his part, the MVP said he is not putting too much stock in the individual honor and instead simply "looking forward to the next round."

The Sioux City Explorers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Kansas City T-Bones - Milwaukee Milkmen series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The American Association Championship is scheduled to begin on September 13th , 2060.
