Yankees Hammered by Gomez, Drop Game 5 to Twins
Minnesota (GCL) Twins third baseman Victor Gomez was the difference-maker at George M. Steinbrenner Field, as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the Round 1. The Twins took the 7-5 win over the New York A (GCL) Yankees to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

There was more than one reason the Twins beat the Yankees, but Gomez's big at-bat in the top of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-0 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.

"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Gomez. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at Hammond Stadium.
