Redfield, Dust Devils Beat Brewers, 8-5
|
The Tri-City Dust Devils knocked off the Bozeman Brewers, 8-5, at Gesa Stadium. Josh Redfield was a big reason Tri-City won. The second baseman went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Peter Pappenheim, who is tied for 5th in the NWL in innings pitched with 79.2, was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 10 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Ken Young finished to wrap up his 9th save.
Shortstop Juan de la Cruz made an impact for Tri-City, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Ron Odman in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, de la Cruz went 2 for 5 with a double.
"I know we have our doubters," said Bozeman manager . "But I still have high hopes for this team."
The Dust Devils improved their record to 20-48 with the win over Bozeman.
