Emeralds Tear Continues with 3-1 Triumph
The Eugene Emeralds defeated the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, 3-1, at Volcanoes Stadium. Mike Kramer, who is tied for 7th in the NWL in stolen bases with 15, was a standout performer for Eugene. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 1 he knocked in. Kevin May earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 4 innings. His record is now 7-1. Eugene, now 40-8, has won 14 straight games.

Mike Ostrem had a direct impact on the outcome. Ostrem contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Eugene up, 3-1.
