One Run Not Enough for Hawks
|
The Everett AquaSox picked up a win at Everett Memorial Stadium, knocking off the Boise Hawks, 2-1. Starting pitcher Chris Romero was a big reason why. Romero got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Elliot Boyle got credit for the save for Everett. It was his 3rd of the year.
Kevin Salmon did the little things right to help the team for Everett. The 19-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Travis White. It was his 14th RBI of the season.
"Every loss stings," said Boise manager . "This one is no exception."
The triumph makes Everett 13-33.
