Emeralds Handle Tri-City, Snag 6-4 Win
|
The Eugene Emeralds knocked off the Tri-City Dust Devils, 6-4, at PK Park. Edwin Zapata was a big reason Eugene won. The first baseman was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times. Joe Saathoff closed it out for his 6th save. The win makes Eugene 18-18.
The Emeralds got a big hit from center fielder Jose Maranon. Facing Tri-City pitcher Nate Randell in the bottom of the fifth, Maranon pounded a 2-run double to center. His 2nd double of the season put the Emeralds ahead, 4-3.
Eugene manager commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
