Tri-City beat Norwich on the strength of starting pitcher Jose Delgadillo's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-2. Delgadillo yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-1. Tri-City, now 45-25, holds down first place in the New York-Penn League North Division.
Tony Castaneda hit a bases-clearing triple off Josh Spencer in the bottom of the first, which put the ValleyCats in front, 3-0. Castaneda had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 4.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Castaneda told the Tri-City Chronicle.
