The Wilmington Blue Rocks and Carolina Mudcats put on a pitchers' duel.

The Wilmington Blue Rocks claimed a close win over the Carolina Mudcats, due in large part to Xavier Roach. The Wilmington right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. The winner was Roach. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Tristan Beach. Luis Jimenez recorded the save, his 3rd.

With two out in the bottom of the fourth, Jordan Balcazar put Wilmington in front, 1-0, with a run-scoring single. The Blue Rocks went on to win the ballgame.

"We found a way to win tonight," Balcazar said.

The last-place Mudcats have lost 4 consecutive games.
