Woodpeckers Take Tight Tilt
Segra Stadium hosted a real pitchers' duel.

The Fayetteville Woodpeckers picked up a win at Segra Stadium, knocking off the Carolina Mudcats, 2-1. Starting pitcher Steve Musser was a big reason why. Mat Davis earned the save for Fayetteville, his 10th of the year.

Eric Barrick drew 3 walks for Fayetteville. The 24-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Luis Lopez. It was his 80th walk of the season.

"We found a way to win tonight," Musser said.

The Woodpeckers saw their win-loss record go to 75-60. At the same time, the Mudcats fell to 39-96.
