Dash center fielder Ruben Lopez put his stamp on his team's 6-5 win over the San Jose Giants. Lopez was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Winston-Salem in the contest. Bob Dyches converted his 12th save in 14 tries. Winston-Salem occupies second place in the CAR/CAL Carolina League at 81-54.

Lopez had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Billy Henges, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Dash a 5-3 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Lopez.

"I keep finding places to plunk down base hits," said Lopez.
