Dash Claim 8-5 Win

Winston-Salem took on Myrtle Beach in front of a lively crowd.
The Winston-Salem Dash defeated the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 8-5. Center Fielder Jose Soto deserved a large share of the credit. Soto was 3-3 with a triple, 2 singles, and 2 walks for the Dash. Dan Ekern got the win, improving to 6-5. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Earning his 16th save for Winston-Salem was Jamie Casinger.
Making an impact for the home team was Bobby Peacock. In the bottom of the sixth, the 22-year old second baseman had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. That made the score 5-3, Dash.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Soto. "Those qualities define our team."
The Dash, at 65-63, sit in 6th place in the CAR/CAL Carolina League.
