66ers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Fredericksburg, 2-0
|
The Inland Empire 66ers picked up a win at New Fredericksburg Ballpark, taking down the Fredericksburg Nationals, 2-0. Starting pitcher Justin Pamplin was a big reason why. Zach Dudash closed the door for Inland Empire, picking up his 4th save of the year. Inland Empire is now 71-49, while Fredericksburg is 73-47.
Inland Empire used the timely hitting of Mike Wipf to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the 66ers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Runs were at a premium," said Inland Empire manager .
