The 10-9 San Jose win over Inland Empire was due largely to Bobby Runge. The Giants first baseman was 2-2 with 2 singles, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs. San Jose reliever Cristiano Prieto got the win, raising his record to 7-4. Zee-loo King was tagged with the loss. The loss makes Inland Empire 55-42.

In the bottom of the 8th, designated hitter Mike McLaughlin gave San Jose the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Giants had been trailing 9-8, but the two-out single off Inland Empire pitcher Zee-loo King changed that -- and San Jose went on to win.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said McLaughlin.
