Wood Ducks Use Late Rally to Win
The Down East Wood Ducks stopped the Winston-Salem Dash, 6-4, at BB&T Ballpark. The Wood Ducks got a big game from Kevin Rager, who was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Down East reliever John Mann picked up the win, raising his record to 2-2. Joe Balfour was tagged with the loss. The Wood Ducks, at 33-26, sit in second place in the CAR/CAL Carolina League.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Rager delivered big-time for Down East, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Joe Balfour. The game-changing hit put the Wood Ducks on top, 5-3.

"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Rager.
