Winston-Salem left-hander Mike Somers helped his team edge Down East by the score of 3-2. Somers kept the opposing lineup in check. Winston-Salem reliever Joe Balfour picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. John Mann took the loss. The Dash move to 25-32 with the win, while the Wood Ducks drop to 32-25.

The Dash got a clutch hit from designated hitter Tim Mohle. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Dash.

"The crowd was juiced," said Mohle.
