The Carolina Mudcats faced a tough opponent in Fredericksburg pitcher Danny Chicas, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Five County Stadium by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Chicas went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win belonged to Victor Araiza in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Mike Howlett took the loss for Fredericksburg.
